Jaguar XK8 Part 2

The car smells like a old caravans cupboard , the seats look like they have been left in the sun for 11 years, there is grass growing from the outside seal trims , the headliner is hanging free and the windows don’t work. That is just for starters. I have not mentioned the paint. It might be the worse paint job i have even seen. Oh yes and there is an oil leak. It’s bad. Saying all this I still love the car; the shape is perfect. The first thing I do it service the car. Its needing one, even two. Wet plugs is not the best start. Oil as black as coal and fuel that would never start a BBQ. The gaskets are finished. The oil just spills out. This is what happens if your car is left for years. Without use it just rots.

 I take the seats out and get to work finding better ones. The seats that were in the car were just not salvable. So I find a good XK8 that is being broken and buy the seats. A 7am drive to Rotherham is the show of dedication to collect seats from a Jag parts company. They are not perfect but now I have something to work with to make perfect. They go off to my upholster and he gets to work.

 The blue is such a nice colour. Its going be special.

 My fleet is down to 4 cars now as sold 3 lovely cars the last 2 month. This is sad but also have more time to do the Cobra and the Jag. Watch this space !!!!
