Porsche 914/4 Part 2

OCT 2023

The car has now been stripped and sanded ready for paint. Many parts had to be hand fabricated to replace the bits that fell off when dismantling the body, its 1974 car and needs some love. There has also been some welding to the back of the car in preparation of painting.

In the meantime, I have went off with a list of parts I need to find.

Gaskets, water pump , starter motor , reverse switche , gear mechanisms , hand brake with all the bits and bolts , fan belt , mirrors, cables , bearing kit , oil drain bolt, plugs , filters , oil, brakes and a whole new interior.

 Lets start with that.

The paint job is done !!

The roof need sorted so I want to get it repaired to keep it original, its fibre glass so its repairable just with a bit of work. Fibre glass is horrible and gets in every fingernail so wear gloves or in my case get someone else to do it!

 JAN 2024

Project has paused until I find some parts as the gear mechanism is not a part of the shelve and finding the right one is a graft and around xmas nobody has anything. Lots of other parts are coming from Canada , Germany , Poland and Ukraine. Lets hope we getting it started soon. We have got the starter motor , brakes roof, handbrake and locks all ready to fit.
