Nut and bolt rebuild.
Introducing the COBRA DAX V12, a classic car enthusiast's ultimate fantasy turned reality. Renowned for its elegant aesthetics and formidable capabilities, this masterpiece guarantees to capture attention at every corner. Here at Smert, we cannot contain our excitement as we present the complete restoration journey of the COBRA DAX V12. Introducing Smert's latest project - the iconic Dax Cars! Founded back in '68 in North Weald, Essex, Dax has been at the forefront of British sports car manufacturing. What started as a fibreglass moulding company under the name DJ Sportscars Int., Dax made history by being the first British company to produce a kit-based replica of the AC 427 Cobra.
In the heart of our workshop lies a magnificent Jaguar V12 engine awaiting its transformation. The V12 engine, revered for its smooth power delivery and distinctive Jaguar growl, is an iconic piece of automotive history. As we carefully disassemble each component, we uncover the beauty of precision engineering that defines this classic powerplant. Stay tuned as we document every step of the restoration process, bringing this legendary Jaguar engine back to its former glory. Only 8 Dax Cobras had the V12 Jaguar engine and this one was made by Dax factory.. The V12 was equipped with four Zenith carburettors, and as introduced produced a claimed 203 kW (272 hp), more torque, and a 0–60 mph acceleration of less than seven seconds. Its a monster !!
